The land grants include Arivaca (La Aribac), Kino Springs (Maria Santisima del Carmen alias Buenavista), Tumacacori (San Jose de Tumacacori), Calabazas (Los Nogales de Elias), San Rafael del la Zanja, and Sonoita (San Jose de Sonoita).

Pioneer Arizona surveyor; appointed U.S. deputy land and mineral surveyor in 1880, served four years as Pima County surveyor and three years as City Engineer of Tucson, and in 1893 was appointed chief clerk in the U.S. Surveyor General's Office.
